Viewing the Moon with a telescope or imaging equipment? Take on a two-part Observing Challenge from the Astronomical League.

  • Locate and observe the 20 objects on the target list below, and document your observations with (1) the date and time, (2) the location where you did the observation, and (3) a sketch or image of those objects.

  • Do an outreach activity related to the Moon and International Observe the Moon Night. This could be an official International Observe the Moon Night event, or any activity that encourages observing the Moon in general.

Note: You may make your observations anytime between October 18, 2023 and October 25, 2023. The deadline for submission is November 21, 2023. You do not need to be a member of the Astronomical League to participate in this challenge.
