Moon Mosaic

This image of the full moon is a photographic mosaic made of 1231 images taken by the Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) on NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) in the summer of 2018. Each image tile was selected from over 10,000 of the highest quality NAC frames by searching for the best match of brightness and gradient (the direction and size of the brightness change across the frame)
