The largest mountains on the Moon rival those of the Earth. Here Zeeman mons (informal name) rises more than 24,500 ft (7,570 m) above the floor of Zeeman crater, and the flank of the crater Zeeman Y is just visible on the right side of the image. This is a view from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, looking to the west from an altitude of 21 miles (33 km). Learn more.
